In this article, we will explain how to adjust your Bailout settings.

A bailout is a worker removing a shift from their schedule. See Bailouts for more information.

You can customize various settings for bailouts, including specific time frames for when workers can bail out and custom warning messages.

To access these settings, go to Configuration in the admin bar, then Settings - Worker Interaction. Click to expand the options, and you’ll find Bailouts at the top.

1. Active

If Active is toggled on, workers can bail out of shifts within a specified time frame based on your settings. If Active is toggled off, workers will be blocked from bailing out and prompted to contact HR instead. In this case, admins will need to manually bail out workers from shifts.

2. Customize when a worker can bailout

If this is toggled on, you can further customize the settings:

  • Admins can receive an email if a worker bails out within a certain number of days before the event.

  • You can lock bailouts within a specified number of days before an event.

If this setting is toggled off, the two sliders will be greyed out. The default settings will then apply: admins will not receive emails, and bailouts will be locked one day before the event.

3. If bailouts are forbidden, automatically append company email to message to worker

If this is toggled on, workers will receive a message to contact HR.

4. Email admins if a worker bails out in less than this amount of days

Customize the number of days before an event so that if a worker bails out admins will receive an email. If set to 7 days, admins will receive an email if a worker bails out within 7 days of the event.

You can also lock bailouts within a specific number of days before the event - if set to 3 days, workers will be unable to bail out themselves starting 3 days before the event.

They will be instructed to contact HR for assistance.

5. Customize Warning Message

In this section, you can edit the message that will appear to your workers when they are attempting to bailout of a shift.

If you edit this message, it will appear as shown below.

And that is how you can adjust your Bailout Settings in Roosted!
