How to give some of your workers more power in the app?

Any account on Roosted can be promoted to admin or owner level. Owner accounts have all permissions enabled and cannot have their permissions altered by other admins.

To promote a worker to admin:

  1. Go to the Workers module.

  2. Click the wrench icon next to the worker you want to promote.

  3. Select the MORE button.

  4. Click MAKE ADMIN, then confirm by clicking OK.

Once you make a worker an Admin, an extra Permissions section will appear on the worker profile.

From here, an owner-level account can manage the permissions and promote worker. There are four specific permissions that can only be assigned by an owner-level account:

Sign-Up Bot Release

This permission allows the admin to enable the Sign-Up Bot to fill shifts when it's in 'Semi-Automatic' mode. For more details, see the Sign-Up Bot - Settings.

If this setting is enabled, the worker will only be able to see the Sign-Up Bot but won't be able to use it if it's restricted by system settings.

Modify Permissions

  • When toggled off: The admin cannot alter any permissions granted to workers by an owner-level account or admins with modified permissions. They also cannot promote workers to the admin level. If they attempt to change permissions, a red error message will appear in the top right corner.

  • When toggled on: The admin can modify permissions granted to other admins and promote workers to the admin level.

Admins cannot modify permissions granted by an owner-level account.

View/Edit Wages

  • When toggled off: The admin cannot view or edit the Wages section on worker profiles.

  • When toggled on: the Wages section on the worker profile will be visible to this admin and they will be able to view and edit wages for workers and other admins.

Manage Time Tracking

  • When toggled off, this admin will not be able to see the Time Tracking Module on their admin bar.

  • When toggled on, this admin will view the Time Tracking Module & make changes to time punches.

To demote an account from admin to worker:

  1. Go to the Workers Module:

    • Locate the worker you want to demote.

  2. Access the Options Menu:

    • Click the wrench icon on the right-hand side of the worker's name.

  3. Select the Appropriate Action:

    • Click the MORE button.

  4. Demote the Account:

    • Click REMOVE ADMIN and confirm by clicking OK.

To promote an account from admin to owner:

  1. Go to the Workers Module:

    • Locate the admin you want to promote.

  2. Access the Options Menu:

    • Click the wrench icon on the right-hand side of the admin's name.

  3. Select the Appropriate Action:

    • Click MORE.

  4. Promote the Account:

    • Click MAKE OWNER and confirm by clicking OK.

Demoting an Account from Owner

Owners have unrestricted authority and cannot have their permissions revoked directly. This restriction is in place for security reasons.

To demote an account from the owner:

1. Open a Support Ticket:

- Submit a request through Roosted’s support system.

2. Specify Your Request:

- Clearly state your need to demote an account from owner status.

3. Await Confirmation:

- Roosted’s support team will assist with processing your request.
