In this article, we'll walk you through adjusting your Time Punch Settings on Roosted. To modify these settings, go to Configuration - Settings - Time Tracking.

See Time Punches for more info!

Time Punch Settings Overview

Allow Workers to Punch In

  • This setting lets workers punch in for events. If turned off, only Reviewers, Event Time Tracking Managers, or admins can punch workers in.

Pre-Approve Time Punches

  • This allows time punches to be automatically approved based on your configured settings, eliminating the need for manual admin approval. Time punches will be approved only if they meet the criteria you set.

Allow Workers to Sign Off on Time Punches

  • Workers can sign off on their time punches at the end of their shift, which can help reduce complaints about hours worked.

Custom Acknowledgment

  • Use this feature for workers to agree or acknowledge terms when punching out of a shift. For more information, see Custom Legal Acknowledgment.

Allow Reviewer to Submit Time Punches

  • Reviewers can be permitted to punch in and out workers during their shifts.

Ask / Require Selfie

  • You can request or mandate that workers submit a selfie when punching in or out.

Get Location / Geo-Fencing

  • Collect workers' location data at the time of punching and enable Geo-Fencing to restrict the distance from the event location where punches can occur. For further details, see Geo-Fencing. Additionally, you can require a location with Anytime Punches; refer to Anytime Punches for more information.

Stop Early / Late Punches

  • Configure limits for how early workers can punch in before their shift starts and how late they can punch out after their shift ends. Adjust the sliders to set these time limits.

Maximum Normal Shift Length

  • Set the maximum duration for a normal shift, which can be adjusted just below the fiscal start of the week setting.

Maximum Shift Time Setting

The Maximum Shift Time determines which time punches require Admin or Owner approval. If an Admin or Owner adds a time punch that exceeds this limit, they must select 'Override Maximum Shift Time' when inputting the worker's time punch.

It's advisable to set a reasonable maximum shift time to avoid unnecessary flags. For instance, if the maximum shift time is set to 10 hours and a worker punches in at 12 PM and out at 10:01 PM, the system will flag this as exceeding the limit.

Allow Workers to Suggest Edits

If workers are permitted to submit time punches, you can further enable them to suggest edits or request deletions for past punches. This setting can be adjusted under the 'Worker Hours Display' section.

And this is how you can adjust your Time Punch Settings in Roosted! 🥳
