How to use the Worker Import Template

In this article, we will explain how to use the worker import template.

Importing Workers:

Open the Import Template, and fill in the following columns:

  • Name (Required) - Name of the worker & how the name appears on account

  • Phone (Recommended) - number of the worker used for the worker's communication.

  • Email (Recommended) - Email address of the worker used by the system to communicate with workers - first-time login information and system manual.

The contact number & email are optional, but it is recommended to fill them. One of them will be required for the import to be successful.

  • Address, City, Zip/Postal Code (Optional) - The next 3 columns are the home address: street address, city & zip/postal code.

  • Star Ranking 1-5 (Optional) - a star rating from 1-5 can be added if you want certain workers to start with a higher rating. You can leave the star ranking column blank. If you do so, each worker will start with a 2-star ranking as standard.

  • Comments (Optional) - This section can be used for internal HR comments on a worker. This will appear on the Worker Profile under Logs/Stats -> Notes/Actions.

  • Skillset & Skillset Pay (Optional) - In the next 2 columns, enter a Skillset (position that this worker is skilled to fill) and Skillset Pay (wage for this position if it is specific to this worker and different from the default wage set for this skillset).

    See Skillsets for more information. Skillsets do not need to be created on your account before uploading this template, can be created upon uploading it.

    There are 5 sections for each: Skillset & Skillset Pay (10 in total).

    If you need additional fields for Skillset & Skillset Pay, you can continue to add additional fields for more Skillet & Skillset Pay.

  • Tag #1 & Tag #2 (Optional) - Tags are used to filter and organize workers when you are scheduling shifts.

    Tags do not need to be created on your account before uploading this template, can be created upon uploading it. Additional tags can be added by inserting additional columns after. (i.e Tag #3, Tag #4 etc).

  • Custom Field - Custom Fields can be used to track additional information, not yet on the worker's profile.

    Custom Fields must be created on your account before uploading this template.

    Additional Custom Fields can be added by inserting additional columns after. (i.e Custom Field #3, Custom Field #4 etc).

    If uploading a Date Custom Field - please ensure you use the following format (Using January 26th 2022 as an example):

26/01/2022 (Day/Month/Year)

2022-01-26 (Year-Month-Day)

The uploading of files are part of these Custom Fields are not supported through the Worker Import Template.

  • Areas (Optional) used by companies that cover multiple states or large geographical areas.

    It is a way to filter what workers can be scheduled for shifts/events.

    See Areas for more information. Areas must to be added to your account before uploading this template.

Please contact your Client Success Specialist if you require areas to be added to your account.

Please ensure that you follow the template exactly as shown. Without following this template, it may give errors upon uploading.
